Full Moon (Hunter's Moon)

The Hunter's Moon follows the Harvest Moon and carries its own special quality — like the Harvest Moon, it rises soon after sunset for several consecutive nights, providing hunters with extra light to track prey. With crops harvested and fields cleared, deer and foxes were easy to spot in the open. Native American tribes depended on this Moon to hunt by, preserving meat through the winter months ahead. It is also called the Travel Moon and the Dying Grass Moon, and like the Harvest Moon it often glows a deep amber or orange on the horizon.
