So I looked out the window and there it was -- a jeep! -- hovering near the tops of the tall pine trees. What? A quick investigation revealed that it was not an odd UFO experience, but a neighbour who was transporting jeeps for the US government. This amazing vehicle was sitting atop his sixteen wheeler in front of the house. Not an everyday sight in most parts, but that's what makes NY the brilliant city that it is.
Reminds me of the excited voices of two young ladies who were visiting from Europe (the UK and France) when I picked them up from the airport in what I thought was a small station wagon. "Wow!" they said. "This car is so big!" They were truly amazed at the trucks that seemed as large as houses and when we drove in the mini-van their eyes opened wide in amazement at the fact that they could practically stand in the car.
